Backflow testing in Bellevue — irrigation, fire lines & high-rise

Bellevue sends annual testing notices to every property with a backflow assembly on file — from a single irrigation PVB in Somerset to the stack of RPs and DCDAs under a downtown tower. We test it, fix it if it fails, and submit the report through Bellevue’s online tester portal.

01

State law (WAC 246-290-490) requires properties with a cross-connection to install a backflow assembly and test it every year.

02

If you have a lawn irrigation system or a fire sprinkler system, Bellevue requires a backflow assembly on it.

03

Only a Washington-certified Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) may perform the test.

04

Bellevue mails testing notices in English and in translated versions (Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese) — we’re happy to walk through yours by phone.

What we see in Bellevue

Every city’s housing stock and commercial mix shapes what’s in the meter box.

Big-lot irrigation

Bridle Trails and Somerset properties often run multiple irrigation zones off one assembly in a landscaped box. We locate, test, and leave the box cleaner than we found it.

Downtown towers

High-rise buildings carry domestic RPs, fire-line detector assemblies, and equipment isolation on boilers and cooling towers. We schedule around building engineers and test every assembly in one trip.
