Fire-line backflow, alongside your inspections

Your techs handle the sprinkler system. The backflow assembly on the fire service also needs a test by a Washington-certified BAT, filed with the water utility. We work alongside your annual inspections, so the building owner gets one visit and two clean reports.

Why partner

Why fire protection contractors bring us in

01

It’s BAT work

Washington State Patrol rules exempt state-certified BATs from fire sprinkler certification while they inspect, test and maintain backflow assemblies — the backflow test itself is BAT territory.

02

Two reports, two agencies

Your inspection report goes to the owner and fire marshal; the backflow test report goes to the water utility. We handle the utility side.

03

Detector assemblies

DCDAs and RPDAs mean testing the mainline and the bypass. We bring the fittings for large-diameter assemblies.

What we handle

Our scope

  • DCVA, DCDA, RPBA and RPDA testing on fire lines
  • Mainline and bypass assemblies
  • Coordinated with your NFPA 25 visit
  • Monitoring company coordination
  • Reports filed with the water utility, copied to you

Annual inspection pairing

We meet your tech on site; you handle the system, we handle the backflow, and the owner gets one visit.

New fire services

Initial tests on new fire-line assemblies so the utility has a passing record before occupancy.

Antifreeze & additive systems

Systems with chemical additives typically need reduced-pressure protection — we test RPs and RPDAs too.

FAQ

Partner questions

Also partnering with:

01 Who handles the tamper and supervisory signals?
We coordinate with the monitoring company before closing any supervised valve and confirm signals have cleared when we restore it. On paired visits, we follow your tech’s lead.
02 Do you do the sprinkler inspection too?
No — that’s your scope. We test the backflow assembly and file its report with the water utility.
